This Chevy pickup does not work - try to, but will not start easy!
If you are a GM product in 70 years I have made a typing go, when you start to slow down, consume less, or simply refuses to start.
In an independent shop, I had to, we pulled a 1972 Chevy pick-up a. .. Would not it start working, it's good to elbow, but the engine does not start and run.
Of course we voted: points, plugs, condenser, wires, rotor and distributor cap.
No change ... elbow is just ... does not act as if you would start ... I thoughtmust just be tired.
The man for whom I had worked in this sector over the last 35 years.
He overhauled the carburetor and replaced the fuel filter.
No change.
The customer came and told us it was a lot more gas and oil in recent times we have beaten only the reconstruction of the engine.
We did.
No change ... now that it has always been awkward.
This was a small block 350 engine ... It 'was a cross-over exhaust ...
how each came from the exhaust pipedifferent, they came together only at the booth, and only a pipe went under the truck ... with muffler and tailpipe.
My boss told me to disconnect the exhaust from each manifold.
I did, and you know what?
The engine started, he did a hell-of-a-lot of noise, but it worked.
Mr. J. told me to take a hacksaw and cut the exhaust just down from the flange that is connected to the distributor.
You will not believe what I found.
The exhaust pipe had alining in it ... In other words, the two pipes in a drain pipe.
The tube had separated and had closed the exhaust flow ... Choking the engine.
If the discharge can not escape, the engine will not start and run ... if you like a potato in the exhaust ... I once saw in a movie.
We replaced the exhaust manifold to the exhaust manifold from the crossing and the car ran just great.
It 'been a pretty expensive process, and not a normalWork, but nobody, not even the engineers knew that GM dealers had the double-pipe on their vehicles at this time.
Note: A catalyst stops and run the same problem with new vehicles.
